DEEP ELLUM ARTS FESTIVAL

April 7, 8 and 9

The Artists Collaborative is proud to be working with Rachel Stirewalt of Art Landing Gallery to present
the Glen Ellen Arts Scene at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival.

A free-to-attend event on six blocks of Main Street in the Deep Ellum area, the festival celebrates everything from fine art paintings, photography and sculpture, crafts, original music, performing arts, and poetry, to good food, drinks, and fun.

The visual and performing arts and spoken word are more prominent than ever at the Glen Ellen Art Scene
located near intersection of Main Street and Crowdus, and sponsored by the Glen Ellen Winery.
Organized by Rachel Stirewalt of Art Landing Gallery and Julie Pearson of The Artists Collaborative,
the area features local visual artists, performance artists, musicians and poets, coming together with the same synergy representative of Art Landing events, but at an unprecedented scale. The area boasts 4800 square feet of space including 1500 square feet of tent space devoted to display and creation of visual arts, and a performing arts stage. Featured artists include Hoberer, Sergey Chernomorets, Skip Noah, Trent Mann, Lynn Rushton, Curt Eichelberger
and photography by Scott Williams and Miguel Casanova among others.

Participating galleries include Expo 825, Q.E.D. Gallery, and Sock Monkey Gallery. In addition, more than 20 local artists will be creating art work and murals on-site throughout the weekend. Panarama, the enterprise of freelance artists Lee Lynch and Ellen Allen, John Hobbie, Joanna Green Studios, and the exotic work of Ixchal Aguilar represent the diversity of artists, and all murals will be on display in the Glen Ellen Art Scene through the festival.

Over 100 performers are participating, including area poets such as Fran Carris and Sharon Hudson hosting readings, Arts DFW Guide, the Dallas Dance Council and Elledanceworks, eclectic performers such as Michael Patrick Kenny hosting drumming circles, Jamal Mohmed, the Betwixt and Between Choir, and Corn Mo, acoustic sets by Annie Benjamin, Kirk Maeder, Sally Semrad, Annie Grey, Mohawk Mike, Teema Faith, and Bea TalPlacido among others, as well as groups such as Chattervox, Amphora, Zin Bubba, Flipside Quartet, Third Floor Art, and Midnight 30. In association with Main Events International, local poet Clebo Rainey performs on Saturday night with Roger Bonair-Agard. A native of Trinidad now residing in Harlem, Roger has been featured at venues throughout the country before being named winner of the individual competition at the 1999 National Poetry Slam.

We look forward to seeing all of you!
